Sparta Middle School Track

Coaching the girls are Coach Rick Meindertsma, Coach Chris McIntire, and Coach David Thocher.

Coach Meindertsma graduated from East Kentwood High School and Grand Valley State University. He is a 7th grade teacher at S.M.S, and also coaches cross country. He and his wife, Debbie, have two children, Michael and Lexie.

Coach McIntire graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School. He is a sergeant at the Newaygo State Police Post. He is also a cross country coach. He and his wife, Evie, have three daughters -- Erica, Jordaen and Gabrielle.

Coach Thocher is a graduate of Hart High School and Grand Valley State University. He is a 7th grade teacher at Sparta Middle School, and also coaches cross country. He and his wife, Perri, have two children, Brittany and Thomas.

Coach Frasier is from St. Charles, MI. He was a 1998 graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, and is a special education teacher at Sparta Middle School. He coached varsity track for 2 years at St. Charles High School. He also coaches varsity golf at Sparta High School and is an assistant basketball coach at Northwood University.

Coach VanDusen graduated from Grant High School and Central Michigan University. She is a social studies teacher at Sparta High School. She and her husband, Jon, have three children -- Abby, Maddie and Benjamin -- and are expecting a fourth child in May. With teaching, coaching, and raising a family, Coach VanDusen leads a very busy life.
