PERTINENT INFORMATION

  • Coaches need to register their school, team and athletes on www.athletic.net by 9-12-11.  Click here for directions on entering your athletes.
  • Coaches may pick up their packets at the entrance gate near the track stadium concession stand.
  • Results will be computed and posted as quickly as possible, and they will be posted in the concession stand area.
  • Results will be posted online at www.gosparta.com and www.athletic.net.
  • All runners in the K-6 race will receive ribbons, but there will no trophies or medals. There will be no times taken and no team scoring.  Names for runners in the K-6 race are not needed --  they just need to show up at the starting line.
  • Race distance for middle school (grades 7 & 8) is 1.6 miles, and distance for K-6 is approximately 700 meters.
  • After dropping off runners behind Sparta Middle School, school buses will be directed to park in the Sparta High School parking lot.
  • A $3.00 per car charge will be taken at the Sparta Middle School parking lot. Please advise your fans of the parking arrangement.
  • All runners should go over the course before the race in order to know where to run.  Course maps will be available at the registration table. (The Blue Reserve race will have a 4 wheel vehicle leading the first runners.)
  • Course markers are basically flags, trees, stakes, groomed trails, cones and fences.  There will be inspectors on the course.
  • We are using computer scoring in all races except K-6. 
  • Concessions and restrooms will be available at the track stadium fieldhouse.
  • If the last runner in the race runs the entire race, the next race will be delayed as necessary.
